When Should You Get Your Med Spa Treatments Before the Holidays? A Denver Skin Timeline
The holidays have a way of sneaking up on you. One minute you're enjoying the last days of summer, and suddenly you're looking at your calendar thinking:
Wait... when am I supposed to do my Botox?
If you're planning holiday parties, family photos, travel, weddings, work events, or simply want to feel really good in your skin by the end of the year, timing matters.
Some treatments are designed to give you an immediate glow. Others need days or weeks for swelling, peeling, or redness to settle. And some of the best treatments for long-term skin improvement should be started well before your event.
At Raw Rituale Med Spa in Denver, we would much rather help you plan ahead than squeeze a treatment into the calendar three days before your big event.
Here's your holiday treatment timeline.
6–12+ Weeks Before Your Event: Start the Bigger Skin Projects
If your goal is more than just a quick glow, start early.
Treatments that improve collagen, pigmentation, texture, acne, or skin quality often work progressively rather than instantly.
This is the time to consider:
Laser resurfacing
Tixel
Microneedling
Corrective chemical peel series
Acne treatments
Pigmentation-focused treatments
Collagen-stimulating treatments
A customized skincare plan
Why Start This Early?
Your skin needs time to respond.
Treatments that stimulate collagen don't necessarily create their full result immediately. And if we're addressing pigmentation, acne, or texture, you may need multiple treatments spaced appropriately apart.
Starting earlier also gives us room to adjust your plan if your skin responds differently than expected. That's especially important with corrective treatments.
We don't want your holiday plan to be a race. We want it to be a progression.
4–6 Weeks Before: Refine + Build Your Glow
Now we're getting closer.
If you've already started your treatment plan, this is a great time to continue with your scheduled treatments and focus on refinement.
Depending on your skin and goals, this may include:
A facial treatment
HydraFacial
Tixel
A chemical peel
Targeted skincare
Continued acne or pigmentation treatments
This is also a good time for a consultation if you're not sure what you should be doing.
Our favorite holiday treatment plan is not necessarily the one with the most treatments.
It's the one where every treatment has a reason.
2–3 Weeks Before: Injectables + Strategic Touch-Ups
If Botox or Dysport is part of your holiday routine, don't wait until the week of your event.
Neurotoxin results develop over time, with full results generally appearing around 10–14 days after treatment.
That makes roughly 2–3 weeks before your event a comfortable planning window.
It gives your treatment time to settle and allows for a potential refinement appointment if your provider recommends one.
2–4 Weeks Before: Filler
Filler deserves a little breathing room.
Swelling and bruising are common after injections, and while much of the swelling improves within several days, final results can take longer to settle. Raw Rituale's current guidance notes that filler can take approximately 2–4 weeks for final results.
So if you're considering lip filler, cheek filler, or another area before holiday photos, we recommend planning ahead rather than booking it a few days before your event.
This is especially important if it's your first time.
1–2 Weeks Before: Skin Polish
This is when we start shifting from correction to glow.
Depending on your skin and previous treatments, options may include:
HydraFacial
A great option when you want deep cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and that immediate "my skin looks really good" feeling without downtime.
Glow Up Peel
A superficial peel designed for brightness, smoother texture, and an overall refreshed appearance, with little to no downtime for many clients.
Chrysalis Peel
One of our favorite options when you want more significant skin renewal without the visible peeling associated with some traditional peels. The Chrysalis Peel targets concerns including pigmentation, acne, pores, texture, and fine lines while offering little to no social downtime.
Dermaplaning
Perfect when you want immediately smoother-feeling skin and a polished canvas for makeup.
1 Week Before: Keep It Calm
This is not the time to experiment.
No aggressive new skincare.
No trying a TikTok peel.
No picking at a breakout.
No scheduling the most intense treatment you've ever had because your holiday party is Saturday.
Your skin should be in maintenance mode.
This is when we want hydration, consistency, and calm.
If you've already been following a treatment plan, stick with it.
What About CO₂ Laser Before the Holidays?
This is where planning becomes especially important.
CO₂ laser resurfacing is a true resurfacing treatment, and downtime varies depending on treatment depth and intensity. Redness, swelling, tightness, peeling, flaking, and micro-crusting can occur during recovery.
Translation:
CO₂ is not your "I have a party on Saturday" treatment.
It's a treatment you plan.
If CO₂ is something you're considering for texture, pigmentation, wrinkles, acne scarring, or overall skin resurfacing, talk to us well ahead of your event so we can determine an appropriate timeline.
The same principle applies to other corrective treatments with downtime.
More aggressive treatment does not automatically mean better timing.
What If My Holiday Event Is Only a Few Days Away?
Don't panic. There are still options.
We may be able to focus on treatments that prioritize hydration, brightness, and a healthy glow without creating unnecessary recovery.
Depending on your skin, that could mean a HydraFacial, dermaplaning, or another customized facial treatment.
But here's the important part:
Don't let the calendar pressure you into doing something your skin isn't ready for.
Sometimes the smartest pre-event treatment is a simple one.

The Best Holiday Glow Starts Before the Holidays
The biggest mistake we see isn't choosing the wrong treatment.
It's waiting too long.
Your skin doesn't need to be completely transformed before the holidays. It just needs a thoughtful plan.
At Raw Rituale, we look at the bigger picture, your skin, your goals, your timeline, and how much downtime you're actually comfortable with.
Because looking your best shouldn't require looking like you've had something done.
It should look like you, well-rested, healthy, and really good in your skin.
